THE HISTORY OF ALADURA EVANGELISM IN NIGERIA

According to the book: "African Instituted Churches, (Published by LIT, 2002, ISBN 3-8258-6087-6; page-127 & 132-133) - "Josiah Olunowo OSITELU started his persons too person evangelism since 1925 and conducted his first Open-Air Revival Service at Ogere on the 9th of June, 1929".

According to the book: " The Oracle of God - Josiah Olunowo OSITELU, (Unpublished) - "The first branch of THE CHURCH OF THE LORD was established at Alafara and later moved to Olorisa-Oko, Ibadan in May,1930".

So, Ositelu's Evangelism started in Ogere-Remo, Ogun State and then to Ibadan, Oyo State, and back to Ijebu Land, Ogun State before going to Sabongida Ora, Edo State, and so on and so forth.

Prior to the great Revival of 1930, first at Ibadan, where Ositelu was one of the revivalist, and later at Ilesha by the Faith Tabernacle and led by Babalola -

Ositelu had been invited in 1929 as a Revivalist to his Previous Stone Church at Ijebu-Ode, which was the first Aladura Church in Nigeria, and again on the 5th of August, 1930 for a week revival.
